We are
proposing on a 5-year contract at Camp Pendleton, CA. and seek highly
experienced and qualified employees to fill these positions.
JOB FUNCTIONS: I
This position provides support to the Service and
Support Division Director (SSD), Assistant Chief of Staff, Communications and
Information Systems Department (AC/S CIS), MCB Camp Pendleton, CA. The
Engineering Draftsmen (ED) is required to set up and operate multiprocessing
computer systems Automated design and Drafting applications such as AutoCAD,
GIS and VISIO; and recommend procedures
to determine the course and means for obtaining, classifying and plotting telecommunication
infrastructure, pedestals and pole locations, cable routes, Demarcs,
termination points, and other significant devices; support the mission of
establishing a Camp Pendleton Communication infrastructure database within the GEOFidelis program; update and keep to scale all of the
existing communication prints in an AutoCad database;
redesign prints to meet the necessary standards, have the data validated and
corrected as required, updated to reflect the current communication situation
and converted and inputted into the GIS database; coordinate between multiple
divisions within CIS, NMCI, PWO and NAVFAC Southwest for all work as required;
plot above ground communication infrastructure features and equipment,
validating actual paths to include utility locates, diagramming all existing maintenance
holes, identifying and labeling cables, validating conduits, splicing cases,
and identifying and initiating naming standards as required; independently plan
the methods to portray and prepares engineering drawings involving original and
complex designs; independently prepare drawings for completion; work from
engineers' sketches, marked up prints, and verbal instructions; translate
ideas, rough sketches, and specifications into complete and accurate working
drawings for use in structure and system maintenance, repair, or new
construction, including complete drawings that include information such as
location, design, material and dimensions; make site investigation to verify
and note details of existing conditions and requirements to ensure all features
are reflected on completed drawings; complete layouts with a high degree of
precision; make arithmetic computations by using standard formulas for
dimensions, scale, and area; prepares notes on drawings using standard
abbreviations and engineering terms; store, catalog, maintain, and update
as-built drawings; maintain copies of all as-built and new designs on computer
storage media; researches original drawings and transcribe information and
codes into system; back up master database and run hardcopy reports on printer;
research and extract record drawings from files and update file system for new
inputs; maintain a current index and cross-reference of files/drawings; operate
and maintain print reproduction equipment; set up reproduction equipment and adjust
controls for proper operation and optimum print quality; complete all work as
scheduled; provide technical support specific to the telecommunication needs of
MCB Camp Pendleton; make recommendations regarding problem and methods that
require resourcefulness, initiative and judgment based on experience to ensure
sound methods and practices in developing telecommunication prints and charts;
apply initiative and resourcefulness in independently planning the methods to
portray original designs; prepare original and complex drawings that are neat,
accurate, appropriately dimensioned, and logically arranged, utilizing the
methods and techniques of drafting; make mathematical computations using
standardized tables and formulas. This
position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering relevant to this
effort; a minimum of 5 years of Facility Information System (FIS) experience
with emphasis on telecommunication infrastructure; knowledge of a full range of
drafting techniques to produce engineering drawings and of symbols,
terminology, and accepted standards used in engineering drawings; knowledge of
the equipment, facilities, and systems of civil mechanical, electrical and
architectural engineering disciplines using architectural/graphic design software
to accomplish unusually difficult drafting assignments.
