We are proposing on a 5-year contract at Camp Pendleton, CA. and seek highly experienced, qualified employees to fill these positions. 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: I

Overview: This technician performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others. Supervisor or professional engineer outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches. Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements. This employee may train and be assisted by lower level technicians, and performs one or a combination of the following:

a. Designs, develops, and constructs major units, devices, or equipment; conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance; and reports results.

b. From general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements), develops designs for equipment without critical performance requirements that are difficult to satisfy such as engine parts, research instruments, or special purpose circuitry. Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc. May check and analyze drawings or equipment to determine adequacy of drawings and design.

c. Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance. Determines test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conducts tests using all types of instruments; analyzes and evaluates test results, and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.

 

This position will work as a Construction Representative/Quality Assurance Evaluator in the MCB Camp Pendleton Inspection Branch. Employee must have the knowledge and skills to apply construction concepts, principles, and practices applicable to full range of duties concerned with renovation, construction and inspections; conduct and/or advise on construction/renovation/inspection for office buildings, commercial facilities, warehouses utilities systems, and infrastructures; review project plans and specifications to determine practicality from a construction standpoint; coordinate construction operations with contractors, station personnel and customer activities; observes and investigate construction at all stages to identify, report, and take timely action to solve potential problems; enforce contractor inspection system and perform inspections of multiple construction operations for compliance with plans and specifications; ensure that all materials and equipment installed are inspected and meet specifications; inspect all work in progress to ensure completion is at the acceptable level of workmanship and compliance with plans and specifications; inspect construction, applying relevant building codes and safety requirements; demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills AutoCAD and Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint); apply EM-385-1-1 and OSHA Regulation regarding Safety. Must have a valid California driver's license and be able to be licensed to drive a government vehicle. This position must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction engineering.
