Maintenance Trade Helper-Boilers

We are proposing on a 5-year contract at Camp Pendleton, CA. and seek highly experienced, qualified employees to fill these positions.

JOB FUNCTIONS: I

Overview: This position is assigned to perform labor work connected with the cleaning of various types of heating equipment, boilers, and associated equipment, and distribution systems including steam valve pits. Employee works on the boiler cleaning crew(s) cleaning boilers. Under close supervision, removes all necessary access panel fittings and flue stacks as may be necessary to accomplish proper cleaning of the boiler water sides, firesides, column blow down systems and other components as directed. Cleans up work sites after cleaning of boilers and must be capable of recognizing and properly reporting discrepancies. Must be able to furnish and use basic hand tools as well as drills, impact wrenches, portable pumps and other power tools necessary to the job. Tools and equipment other than basic hand tools will be furnished by the government. Must have the ability to use, operate and work safely with tools, equipment, machines and boilers as indicated above. No trade skill is required; however, employee must become familiar with steam, hot water heaters and boilers in order to report discrepancies coherently. Required to execute boiler operations and procedures to work safely on water and steam boilers. Must possess a valid California Drivers License and able to obtain an U.S. Government operator’s permit to operate a truck with load capacity up to 3 tons.  A minimum of 3 years of experience is required for this position.
