5-year contract at Camp Pendleton, CA. and seek highly experienced, qualified
employees to fill these positions.
JOB
FUNCTIONS: I
Overview: Stock Clerk receives, stores, and issues
equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles
stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard. Worker sorts,
or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or
invoice, examines stock to verify conformance to specifications, stores
articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information,
such as style, size or type of material, fills orders or issues supplies from
stock, prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock, and requisitions
articles to fill incoming orders. Also compiles reports on use of stock
handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage
of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments, etc. This
position will oversee stock maintenance at or within prescribed levels,
establish or adjust stock levels and reorder points using standard formulae and
prescribed procedures; initiate, prepare, edit, and process purchase
requisitions to reorder when stocks are low or at a specified reorder point;
search catalogs, records, or other data sources to obtain or correct stock
numbers or to find authorized substitutes for stock items; process
documentation for stock item receipts, maintain such items in a supply room or
similar storage area, issue material to shop or work center personnel, and
perform related stock receipt, storage, control, and issue functions for
expendable and non-expendable items for a local organization; conduct physical
inventories and adjust and/or maintain inventory of stock items; operate
computer terminals or personal computers to perform records search, data input,
and data corrections; examine items received, noting overages, shortages, or
any damages incurred in shipping and prepare detailed reports as required;
inspect storage areas and recommend replenishment of items when quantity
appears low, review requisitions and revise quantities ordered based on the
number of items on hand, and recommend substitutions when items are not
available. Must have knowledge of requisitioning and stock control procedures
and regulations to check appropriate computer listings, item histories, procurement documents, shipment invoices, or other
available records or files.
Must know how to determine status of supply actions or
reasons for delay, investigate and reconcile discrepancies such as receipt
control, stock control, and inventory adjustments. Work also involves heavy
lifting and carrying of objects up to 65 pounds. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
