Project Manager

We are
proposing on a 5-year contract at Camp Pendleton, CA. and seek highly
experienced and qualified employees to fill these positions.
JOB
FUNCTIONS: I
This position
will work under AC/S CIS Service and Support Division, Building 2456, Marine
Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. Projects
may include upgrades or modifications to existing systems. These systems typically include Fiber Optics,
Category-5 Copper, Coaxial Cable, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, TCP/IP, FDDI, ATM,
SONET, Frame Relay, ISDN, DSL and other telecommunication technologies.
Individual is required to provide requirements and recommendations for design
and specification for telecommunications systems, such as telephone systems,
radio systems, Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs); assist
in preparing job orders for maintenance, relocation or alteration of
telecommunication services; estimate total man-hours and recommend material and
time required; evaluate tasks to recommend the most appropriate, efficient and
economical telecommunication technologies to serve MCB Camp Pendleton; conduct
or oversee field surveys to investigate existing equipment layout, customer
requirements and facility conditions; oversee diagnostic inspections of the
condition of the telecommunication distribution system and recommend changes or
improvements; analyze system needs; provide calculations; size and select equipment,
materials and other communications systems suitable to economy, efficiency and
interoperability with the long-term integrated architecture of MCB; liaise with
engineers responsible for other elements of the system to ensure proper
integration of hardware components; prepare specifications to comply with the
scope of work and criteria in order to assist the Government in preparing
Government estimates for individual work; prepare detailed cost estimates for
use in obtaining project funding. Serve
as technical subject matter expert, performing design review of construction
drawings and specifications for communication systems including wiring
diagrams, building access and hub design; ensure that systems are designed in
accordance with the latest standards in design and construction practices;
provide detailed design analysis and evaluations of potential projects; interpret customer requirements and provide
written reports and briefings; complete all work as scheduled; provide project
management liaison and technical support specific to the telecommunication
needs of MCB Camp Pendleton; make recommendations to (SSD), AC/S CIS regarding
problem and methods that require resourcefulness, initiative and judgment based
on experience to enhance traditional engineering methods and practices in
developing solutions or alternatives to problems where precedents are not
established. Individual must have the skills and knowledge to apply
telecommunication concepts, principles and practices applicable to the full
range of duties concerned with the design, layout and construction of
communication systems to include present and future industry standards of
telecommunication systems; effectively communicate via oral briefings and
written documentation on current and future technology solutions to complex
communications requirements; translate telecommunication requirements to the
appropriate Resident Officer in Charge of Construction personnel (ROICC),
Public Works Office personnel (PWO), individuals and telecommunications
engineers as applicable; research and provide recommendations/comments for input
into job orders for maintenance, relocation or alteration of telecommunication
services, estimate total man-hours required, and recommend material and time
required; conduct or oversee field surveys to investigate existing equipment
layout, customer requirements and facility conditions; liaise with engineers to
ensure proper integration of hardware components; assist in preparing
specifications to comply with appropriate contracted work in order to assist
the Government in preparing Governments estimates for individual work; assist in tasks such as writing statements of
work/performance work statements, estimating, and completing site surveys;
perform design review of construction drawings and specifications for communication
systems including wiring diagrams, building access and hub design, provide
recommendations to the Government, and ensure that systems are designed in
accordance with the latest standards in design and construction practices;
analyze system needs, make calculations for size and equipment, materials
and+A31 other communications systems suitable to economy, efficiency and
interoperability with the long-term integrated architecture of MCB Camp
Pendleton; prepare detailed cost estimates for use in obtaining project
funding; provide detailed analysis and evaluations of potential projects;
interpret customer requirements, perform necessary calculations based on
customer input, develop possible alternatives, and present findings and
alternatives in written reports and briefings for the customer; and, oversee
the performance of diagnostic inspections of the condition of the
telecommunication distribution system and recommend changes or improvements.
Individual is required to have a minimum of five years of telecommunication
project management experience with emphasis on start to finish project
oversight; certificates or other evidence of formal training such as BICSI
courses PM100 Telecommunication Management Fundamentals and PM 120
Telecommunication Management or other like formal education; a minimum of 2
years hands on experience managing telecommunication projects.
